Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2026-06-20  |  Last Updated: 2026-08-31

This privacy policy applies to the DocEnhance: PDF Scanner Editor app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by JAM Technologies (collectively, the "Application"). JAM Technologies is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include:

  • Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address)
  • The pages/screens of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those pages
  • The overall time spent on the Application
  • The mobile operating system and device model you use
  • Locally Stored User Assets (Signatures, Annotations, Scans): Any digital signatures created or saved by you, custom stamps, annotations, photos, and scanned documents are stored strictly within your device's local application storage sandbox. The Service Provider DOES NOT collect, transmit, view, or store your saved signatures or documents on external servers.

The Service Provider may use the information you provide to send important updates, required technical notices, and, where permitted by law, marketing communications.

Artificial Intelligence & Document Processing

The Application uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automated technologies (such as Google ML Kit) to provide features including edge detection, image enhancement, document scanning, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) text extraction.

  • On-Device Processing: Unless explicitly stated otherwise for specific optional cloud features, image processing, document scanning, and OCR text extraction are performed locally ("on-device") on your mobile phone. Your scanned documents, images, and extracted text are stored on your local device and are not transmitted to or stored on the Service Provider's servers.
  • No AI Model Training: The Service Provider does not use your personal documents, scanned files, photos, or OCR-extracted text to train, fine-tune, or develop artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
  • Accuracy Disclaimers: AI and automated features are designed to assist you, but may not always produce fully accurate or complete results. You must review any AI-generated or OCR-extracted content before relying on it. For full details, see the "Software Functionality, AI, and Tool Accuracy Disclaimer" section in our Terms & Conditions.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Application or its third-party SDKs may use cookies, identifiers, SDKs, and similar technologies to support functionality, analytics, or service delivery. Where required by applicable law, the Service Provider will obtain consent before using non-essential tracking technologies.

Third-Party Access & Services

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and service performance.

The Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policies regarding data handling. Below are the links to their policies:

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

  • As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;
  • When believed in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect legal rights, protect user safety, investigate fraud, or respond to official government requests;
  • With trusted service providers who work on their behalf, do not have independent use of the information disclosed, and have agreed to adhere to strict confidentiality and privacy standards.

International Data Transfers

The Service Provider or its third-party service providers may transfer personal data to countries outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, the Service Provider will use appropriate mechanisms:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission;
  • Adequacy decisions or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms;
  • Your explicit consent, where required and legally permitted.

Your Rights & California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA / GDPR)

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data held by the Service Provider. To exercise these rights, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, contact the Service Provider at jam.technologies.apps@gmail.com.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA): If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

Opt-Out & Data Retention Policy

Opt-Out: You can stop all collection of information by uninstalling the Application from your mobile device.

Data Retention:

  • User Provided Data: Retained for the duration of your use of the Application plus 12 months thereafter, unless longer retention is required by law.
  • Automatically Collected Data: Retained for up to 24 months from collection.
  • Aggregated and Anonymized Data: Retained indefinitely as it no longer identifies you.
  • Local App Data & Signatures: Since saved signatures, scan drafts, and cached files are stored strictly on your device, their retention is controlled by your device's operating system. You may permanently delete this data at any time by clearing the Application's cache/data via your device settings or by uninstalling the Application. Note that software updates or database migrations may also reset or delete locally stored application caches.

Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed to children under 18 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

If you become aware that a child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider at jam.technologies.apps@gmail.com so that the information can be promptly removed.

Security & Data Breach Notification

The Service Provider maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect collected information. In the event of a security breach affecting your personal data, the Service Provider will notify affected users and regulatory authorities in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy periodically. You will be notified of material changes through updates posted on this page with a revised effective date.
